Fun Outdoor Winter Activities in Toronto

Posted on January 12, 2021January 19, 2021 by Downtown Ford

Toronto is filled to the brim with winter fun, whether you’re looking for a memorable time with your family or simply want to enjoy nature on your own. If you’re looking to take advantage of the season with some great outdoor activities, be sure to check out these safe and enjoyable winter activities in Toronto.

Skating at Nathan Phillips Square. You can skate for free at all 54 city-run outdoor ice rinks, including the one at Nathan Phillips Square. This means you can strap on your skates and really enjoy the brisk Canadian winter weather. Only 25 participants are allowed at any time, so you will be properly socially distanced as well. You must wear a face mask while you skate and reserve a spot online before heading to the skating rink.

Hike a winter trail. Toronto is filled to the brim with hiking trails, so why not take advantage? Bundle up and head to Sun Valley Trail, the High Park Trails, or the Beltline. It’s easy to stay distanced while you’re trekking, and you get to take in the beauty that is nature during the winter.

Go tobogganing. Tobogganing isn’t just for kids — it’s for the young at heart, too! There are so many great hills around Toronto for you to hit this winter, so grab a sled and go!

Here at Downtown Ford, we hope you enjoy all that winter has to offer here in Toronto. And if you need a reliable vehicle to take on snowy roads or fit all your winter sports gear, we’re here to help!
